Riding in Dynamic Balance
Riding in dynamic balance means moving along without disturbance, and communicating without noise. Drawing on insights from the Alexander Technique and the Scala of Training, I help riders ride with awareness, relaxation and biomechanical correctness. This gives the horse more space to carry, to release, and to move in harmony. Together we work toward lightness, balance and trust.
Riding in Dynamic Balance
Lighter, freer and more in harmony for horse and rider.
Conscious riding — from calm and biomechanical understanding
In my coaching I combine insights from the Alexander Technique — awareness, relaxation and direction — with the natural progression of the Scala of Training: rhythm, relaxation and contact. This combination brings calm, structure and clarity to your riding. You learn to organise your body so that your horse can really move freer and more balanced.
Body awareness for the rider
Many riders do too much without realising it. Small tensions, a shifted centerline or unconscious compensations disturb the horse’s movement. I help you recognise tension, release it and ride from your centerline. As a result, your seat becomes more calm, lighter and independent — and your horse notices immediately.
Immediate, noticeable difference
When your body works with the movement instead of against it, your horse changes immediately. You’ll feel more carrying power, greater lightness in the connection and a smoother rhythm. Small adjustments in breathing and timing often already bring a completely different reaction.
Harmony and cooperation
Riding in dynamic balance is not a trick — nor a posture. It’s a way of working together that brings calm to both you and your horse. When you create less “noise,” your horse can move better, relax, and build trust. True harmony is not achieved by working harder, but by riding more consciously.
How I work
We start with awareness: breathing, rhythm and the natural connection between your head, neck and spine. Next we focus on moving along: aligning your pelvis, torso and timing to synchronize with your horse’s movement. From there refinement naturally arises: a lighter contact, more impulsion and a horse that carries itself more beautifully.
For riders and horses who…
- seek calm, stability and balance
- want to develop an independent seat
- want to give subtler and clearer aids
- are looking for more harmony and biomechanically correct movement
And for horses that…
- hold tension
- struggle with contact or balance
- tend to fall on the forehand
- react sensitively or uncertainly
- would benefit from a calm, stable and responsive rider
